Welcome to Curly Words Therapies, where families find understanding, guidance, and evidence-based support to overcome behavioural challenges. Led by Matthew Vale, a passionate Behavioural Specialist, NDIS PBS Practitioner, and registered Masters level teacher, we offer compassionate and tailored services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.

These sessions are led by Matthew R. Vale, a registered teacher and Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner with extensive experience in evidence-based interventions and practical behavioral strategies. Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge grounded in leading research and years of hands-on experience with children and families.

  • Guided by Leading Practices and Resources: Our sessions draw upon trusted methodologies, including Dr. Ross Greene’s Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) approach, which emphasizes collaboration to resolve behavior challenges. We also integrate strategies from Unstuck and On Target! by Cannon et al., 2020, focusing on fostering cognitive flexibility in children with autism.
  • Real-Life, Practical Examples: Learn how to apply these strategies in real-life situations through case studies and practical examples. These relatable scenarios will prepare you to tackle everyday challenges with confidence.
  • Focus on Cognitive Flexibility: Delve into evidence-based practices for enhancing cognitive flexibility—an essential skill for managing emotional regulation and adapting to change, particularly for children with ASD.
  • Take-Home Materials: Each class includes comprehensive resources, including handouts, guides, and practical tools to reinforce your learning and support ongoing development at home.
